Day 1: Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, you will be driven to Nyungwe Forest National Park in southwest Rwanda. Enjoy a scenic drive with stops along the way to visit the National Museum and other places of interest.
Enjoy lunch in Huye. Arrive in Nyungwe Forest in the evening, check into your lodge, freshen up, and relax in the evening. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk – Nyungwe Forest
Start your day early with a delicious breakfast, head to the Nyungwe Forest for chimpanzee trekking. Join other visitors for briefing at the park headquarters, a senior ranger guide will take you through chimpanzee trekking dos and don’ts. Head into the rainforest of Nyungwe with your guides and armed rangers looking for chimpanzees, the trek takes approximately 2 – 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the chimpanzees and where they spent their previous night.
You will spend one hour with the chimpanzees, watching them play, feed and groom each other. Nyungwe Forest National Park is home to 12 other primate species and during the trek, you will be able to see other primates such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.
Return to your lodge for lunch, then later go for the canopy walk to see the forest from above.

Day 3: Colobus Monkey Trekking
Today we return to Nyungwe Forest National Park for colobus monkey trekking. Nyungwe has one of the colobus monkey groups of about 200 monkeys. You will start early with a briefing, then enter the forest to track the colobus monkeys.
Expect to have an active and playful encounter.
After lunch at the lodge, you can relax or choose to visit a local community or take a guided nature walk. Overnight as above.

Day 4: End of the Tour
Enjoy a relaxed morning at the lodge with a delicious breakfast. The drive back to Kigali, you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport bringing your Nyungwe Safari to an end.
