Detailed Itinerary of 4 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Chimpanzee Safari
Day 1: Travel to Kibale National Park
To start your 4 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Chimpanzee Safari, you will be picked up from Entebbe Airport upon arrival or Kampala in the morning after breakfast, then travel to Kibale National Park. The park is home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, mangabeys and Pottos among others.
Have en-route lunch and when you arrive in the park, you will go on a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Swamp. Expect to see some bird species since the wetland is a haven for birds. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale Park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the chimpanzees. You will be assigned ranger who will lead you on the hike into the tropical rainforest to track chimpanzees. Upon finding the chimpanzees, you will be given one hour to watch the great apes. Have one hour to observe the chimpanzees and take photos of the great apes.
Exit the park and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the late afternoon. You will arrive in the park in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to almost half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. You will travel through the rural countryside of Uganda before you reach Rushaga, one of the sectors where gorilla tourism is done in Uganda.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Enjoy early breakfast, then transfer to the park headquarters and join a group of 8 tourists. Guided by park rangers, you will start the hike into the forest to start the search for the mountain gorillas. The duration of the gorilla trek depends on the movements of the gorilla family that will be assigned to trek.
During the trek, the ranger guide will be in position to answer all your questions throughout the trek to make it informative, enjoyable and above all memorable. A maximum of one hour is given to enjoy the view, take photos and interact with the gorillas.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa Community. These people are former forest dwellers who used to live with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest. You will experience their lifestyle that involved food gathering, hunting and more. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Departure
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a return trip to Entebbe or Kampala. En-route lunch in Mbarara and a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for pictures. You will be dropped off at the hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
