 This 6 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari is a thrilling safari offering you an opportunity to visit and explore both Uganda and Rwanda. Visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for game viewing and enjoy various sights of animals including elephants, waterbucks, lions, leopards, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Nile crocodiles, hippos, warthogs, oribis, bushbucks, topis, among others. You will also do a boat cruise.

Your journey continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking. then cross over to Volcanoes National Park where you will spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in their natural habitat.

Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depending on your location in Kigali you will be picked up by our Driver-Guide and embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park  – the second popular park in Uganda and home to four of the Big Five including the rare tree climbing lions.

Cross the border at Cyanika and after clearing with the immigration, continue to the park with en-route lunch. Along the way you will enjoy spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains and tea plantations among others. On arrival in the park, check in at your lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and afternoon boat cruise

 Enjoy an early breakfast and go for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains giving you an opportunity to see early risers including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, bush bucks, Uganda kobs and waterbucks among others as well as different bird species. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 40 km water channel connecting Lake George to Lake Edward. As you explore the channel on the comfort of your boat, you will see several animals including buffaloes and elephants along the shores of the channel, several bird species and Nile crocodiles and Hippos in the waters.

At sunset you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector where you will have an opportunity to see the rare tree climbing lions lounging on fig trees during the game drive.

Continue to Bwindi with en-route lunch. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast and head to the park for gorilla trekking experience, join other visitors at the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the gorillas. In groups of 8 people you will head into the forest searching for a gorilla family assigned to you.

The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend one hour in their presence watching them play, feed and groom each other. Observe their behaviors and take great photos. After an encounter with the gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a gorilla certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet up with your driver guide and return to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park with border crossing at Cyanika or Kisoro. On the way, you will have en-route lunch and upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Trekking and Departure

Wake up early for breakfast, meet your driver guide and go for an interesting golden monkey trekking briefing. A ranger guide will take you through the right way to behave while in the presence of the golden monkeys and head into the forest searching for golden monkeys.

The trek takes through the misty forests of Volcanoes National Park looking for golden monkeys found in bamboo forests of the park. You will spend one hour with these beautiful primates, take amazing pictures and record videos for memory purposes.

After this impressive experience, you will meet with your driver guide and start your journey back to Kigali with en-route lunch. on arrival, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of advice.
